Even though there's some question as to what's happening on the single player DLC side of things, it appears that Mass Effect: Andromeda from BioWare is getting some sort of new content that players can appreciate.

The team announced earlier today that the game will soon be getting a "Platinum Difficulty" setting to be added to APEX Multiplayer. The team posted a teaser on Twitter, noting, "Take your skills to the next level. Platinum Difficulty is coming to APEX Multiplayer." You can check out the video below.

The game's producer, Fernando Melo, has already noted that the addition of the new difficulty setting will be part of the game's latest update, though it hasn't been given a release date as of yet.

That appears to be the latest – and only – update coming to the game, which once again brings up the question if we'll be getting single player downloadable content or not. One team noted that the game wouldn't be getting it, but BioWare quickly shot down those rumors, while at the same time not being able to officially confirm that it was coming. So it's really up in the air at this point.

We do know that the developer is hard at work on its latest project, Anthem, which is set to arrive early next year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. With that, there is a possibility that Mass Effect: Andromeda is already done, save for some small updates like this one. We'll just have to wait and see what's planned for the months ahead, and enjoy the gist of what the game has to offer for the time being – which is quite a bit, honestly.

We'll find out when the "Platinum Difficulty" is set to drop – probably sometime over the next few weeks – soon enough. For now, you can hop in the game for fairly cheap, as it's currently being offered for $20 at GameStop.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and it's worth it if you enjoy a great space adventure!
