A new sci-fi game just released on Steam has a 96/100 rating on the digital Valve storefront, and for a limited time, it is 40% off. This means it is on sale for $11.99 rather than $19.99; however, this offer is only available until October 9 as an “introductory offer.” That said, while the sci-fi game is technically a new release, only released four days ago, it has actually been around since 2023 via Steam Early Access.

The new Steam game in question is called Mars First Logistics from developer Shape Shop, which has published games on Steam before, but debuts as a developer with this release. And what a good debut it is proving. To date, the PC game has 1,412 user reviews on Steam, 96% of which rate the game positively. This gives the Steam game an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating, the highest rating a video game can earn on the platform.
About the Game
As the name kind of implies, Mars First Logistics is an open-world physics simulation game where you design and build mechanized rovers in the name of delivering things. What the name doesn’t imply is that not only can this sci-fi game be played solo, but with up to three others via online co-op. That said, with only about 2,000 active concurrent users, it may be difficult to find others to play with if you don’t have to friends who can join you.
Those on Steam Deck interested in something new to play while they wait for the next big Steam Deck game will be happy to know that Mars First Logistics is indeed Steam Deck Verified.
What Steam Users Are Saying
With its 96/100 rating, Mars First Logistics is actually one of the highest-rated games of 2025, at least when the barometer is Steam user reviews. This isn’t entirely too uncommon for early access games, which are shaped by player feedback and which cultivate a hardcore player base. Meanwhile, user reviews suggest, in particular, that fans of Trailmakers and Death Stranding may find something in the new sci-fi game.
“This is one of those hidden gems you almost miss in Steam’s endless catalog,” reads one of the top user reviews for the PC game. “I only noticed it because it popped up on the front page, and I’m so glad I did. The mix of creative vehicle building and physics-based hauling is surprisingly addictive, rewarding, and just plain fun. Easily one of the best surprises I’ve had on Steam in a long time.”
How Long to Beat has Mars First Logistics at around 13 hours long, but it is obviously a game with a ton of replayability. To this end, some of the top user reviews have 21 hours, 189 hours, and 40 hours with the game. While it’s not going to cement itself as one of the best sci-fi games of all time, it is certainly one of the better sci-fi games of the year, and all the underlying data supports this.
