Nintendo Switch 2 Reports Reveal Two Major Games Releasing in 2026

New Nintendo Switch 2 reports have revealed two major games supposedly coming to the new Nintendo console in 2026. Following this week’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Switch 2 users have a better idea of what to expect from next year, but there is still plenty of mystery and uncertainty. More Nintendo Switch 2 games have been added to the 2026 calendar, but there is certainly a lot more filling out to do. The new reports help with this problem, at least a little bit.

The first of the two new reports comes from well-known Nintendo leaker, Nash Weedle, a source who leaked a few announcements from the aforementioned Nintendo Direct before they were made. And according to Nash Weedle, Ubisoft is bringing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The other new report comes from Nate the Hate, one of the most prominent industry insiders, especially when it comes to Nintendo. According to Nate the Hate, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The Square Enix game was revealed for Switch 2 at the aforementioned Nintendo Direct, but it was not dated. To this end, if accurate, this new 2026 release window would be new information.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a 2023 action-adventure game from Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment, the studio best known for The Division series. Despite a big budget, despite the pedigree of the studio involved, and despite the big IP, the third-person Avatar game received both a mixed critical reception and a mixed commercial reception. It is understood to have not done well enough commercially, and its Metacritic scores in the 70s are certainly not what Ubisoft was aiming for or expected to deliver.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was released last year by Square Enix. The RPG is a sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and the second release in a three-release series remaking the iconic Final Fantasy 7. Unlike Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, it was a substantial success when it released last year, as evident by its Game of the Year nomination at The Game Awards, its 92 on Metacritic, and the millions of copies it sold.

All of that said, and as always, remember to take everything here with a grain of salt. Nothing here is official information, and even if accurate, said information is also subject to change. Meanwhile, none of the implicated parties has been drawn out for comment. If this changes, we will update the story accordingly.

As always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the conversation now in the ComicBook Forum. Will you check out either of these games if they come to Nintendo Switch 2 next year?
