It can ultimately be hard to determine exactly how rare a Fortnite skin really is. It might seem like no one uses the Naomi Osaka skin or the Omega outfit whatsoever, but that’s only because we don’t see it. Those skins are populating tons of lockers. Just how many is hard to estimate, too, but some skins just weren’t available for very long or have been gone for quite some time. Some Item Shop skins have been absent for several years, so if players didn’t get those outfits the last time, they didn’t get them at all. Others were tied to specific purchases locked into a moment in time, meaning beyond that moment, they were literally impossible, making them the rarest Fortnite skins ever.

5. Rogue Agent

Rogue Agent was the first-ever starter pack, which means it was available for a very limited time long ago. Unlike skins like Black Knight, this one was tied to an extra purchase. It wasn’t in the battle pass, which makes it even less common. Starter packs go for $4.99 in Fortnite, and although they do come with V-Bucks, players were essentially paying real money on top of what they paid to get the V-Bucks for the Battle Pass, which just didn’t happen as frequently when the game was so new. As a result, hardly anyone even owns Rogue Agent today, and it’s never coming back.
4. Shaman

Shaman is not tied to a moment in time or a specific purchase, which ordinarily would mean that it’s actually not all that rare. However, it has not been back in the Item Shop in over 2,100 days. That translates to nearly six full years. It was available five times in the Item Shop. Otherwise, it’s become sort of an urban legend at this point. It’s the only Item Shop outfit that hasn’t come back in that time frame. It’s not as if Epic Games forgot about it, though. The skin has a LEGO style and a Fall Guys style as well, which were updated long after it left the Item Shop. Clearly, Epic Games thought about the skin for those patches, but they didn’t bother bringing it back.
3. Arcane Jinx and Vi

Arcane Jinx and Vi, the beloved skins from Arcane, the League of Legends show, are becoming rarer and rarer all the time. For starters, they were last seen in the Item Shop on February 5, 2022, which means it’s been well over three years since anyone was even able to purchase them. Sadly, that may never change. Other Item Shop skins have a chance at returning, but these probably do not. Epic Games and Riot Games have not been able to agree on bringing them back, and Riot’s Marc Merrill specifically said they would only bring them back if they found the “right fit,” which they haven’t. Merrill also said that he’d let people know if things changed, which means that as of right now, Arcane Jinx and Vi will not be back in Fortnite.
2. Blue Team Leader

Blue Team Leader is tied to one of the most obscure crossovers in Fortnite history. To celebrate the connection between Epic Games and PlayStation, this skin was created. The only players who could get it were those who had or subscribed to PlayStation Plus between February 14 and June 12, 2018. Back then, PlayStation Plus was required to play Fortnite, but plenty of players probably didn’t realize it and left the skin unclaimed, and it was still a very small timeframe for a small portion of Fortnite‘s player base. Since then, the skin has not returned, so the select few PlayStation gamers who got it have a genuinely rare cosmetic.
1. Galaxy

Galaxy remains one of the rarest Fortnite skins out there, and that’s not going to change. It is also arguably the most expensive outfit available, because it was tied to the purchase or usage of a Samsung Galaxy device. The devices ranged from about $650 to $1250, and the only way to get this skin was to play Fortnite on a Galaxy device in August 2018. Not only was it available for a very limited time, but it was obviously only available to a very limited audience, since Fortnite Mobile wasn’t the most prominent back then, and players weren’t really keen on spending over $1,000 for one skin that added zero actual value to their locker.
What do you think? Are these the rarest skins in the game? Do you own any of these? Sound off in the comments!
