Earlier this month, we reported on the news that Retro City Rampage, the 8-bit style Grand Theft Auto game that has been providing hours of glorious chaos on other platforms, would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Well, good news – now we know when you'll be able to raise digital hell on Nintendo's latest platform.

The team at VBlank Entertainment has announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Retro City Rampage will make its debut…this week! The game will arrive on August 3rd and is set to sell for $14.99.

This will serve as the DX version of the game, which will include some new content, including 60+ story missions, as well as a few tweaks that are specific for the Nintendo Switch console, though the developer didn't list these in the announcement. (More than likely, this pertains to the various control styles that the Switch is capable of with its detachable JoyCons, as well as possible GamePad support, which a lot of titles have been getting lately.)

Said the publisher, "Like each port before it, it contains little tweaks that polish the game even further (I just can't help myself!). From little things like the slightly more stylish score display, to improved enemy stomp and swimming controls, to improved lock-on targeting, and mission difficulty tweaks. If you couldn't beat Death Cam VHS before, you'll have a leg up on Switch!"

So, yes, the game will be even harder, it seems. You can check out the trailer for the game above, and then be prepared to take your action on the go or on your console, however you see fit!

Previous versions of the game, which has been released across the board for platforms like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Wii U and even the classic 486, have hit a huge chord with fans, and Retro City Rampage on the Switch will no doubt bide their time while we wait to see what's happening with the game's follow-up, Shakedown Hawaii, which is set to arrive on various game systems later this year.

In the meantime, rejoice in this classic, and don't hesitate to join in the fun!
