And now for something completely different! Rebellion Developments is mainly known for producing the well-regarded Sniper Elite series, but they’re going out on an all-new limb with their next game, Strange Brigade. You can check out a trailer, above.
Strange Brigade, which Rebellion describes as a “rip-roaring adventure,” takes place during the 1930s and featuring daring explorers, ancient ruins, and killer mummies. There’s definitely a pulpy Indian Jones flavor to the game, although everything is very British rather than American. Here’s how Rebellion describes the game:

“Strange Brigade is a rip-roaring third-person 1930s adventure for one to four players, full of peril, intrigue, and good old derring-do. As a fully-fledged member of the Strange Brigade, you’ll investigate remote corners of the British Empire where few dare go and fewer return. And there in the unfamiliar you will encounter fantastic and forgotten civilizations, and maybe even unearth hidden treasures.
But should you somehow survive the mind-bending puzzles and dastardly traps of this ancient world, doom still awaits you in the shadows โ a truly petrifying army of mythological menaces stands in your way, unleashed by an Egyptian witch queen so nefarious they wiped her from the hieroglyphs. As one of four debonair explorers, you have your own strengths and, by Jove, superhuman powers to boot. Fight to protect King and country against such impossible forces of evil!”
Sounds fun! As the blurb above mentions, Strange Brigade is a third-person shooter for up to four players, and will, apparently, have some sort of puzzle and exploration elements. There needs to be more co-op action-adventure games, so consider me already on board for Strange Brigade!
Strange Brigade strides boldly onto the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Rebellion promises more information on the game at E3 2017.
