Last year, GameStop seemed content on hosting its annual GameStop Expo event in Anaheim, California, where thousands of gamers came out to check out some of the latest titles for the year. However, it appears that the company has changed course, and this year’s event will once again be held in Las Vegas.

The company confirmed that its event will take place on Sunday, August 27th at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, located right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. In addition, consumers will actually have the chance to purchase accessories and other pop culture novelty items and collectibles straight from the show floor, through a number of attending vendors.

GameStop’s Expo event will also serve as the location for the ESL Injustice 2 Hometown Heroes tournament finals. The tournament, set to kick off on June 4th through various GameStop stores, will provide eight final competitors the chance to battle for cash prizes in the final round.

“Every year our customers ask us to make the GameStop Expo bigger and better,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop. “We have delivered on their request by bringing our Expo back to the entertainment capital of the world, opening our doors for the first time on Sunday, playing host to one of the biggest non-pro gaming tournaments in the industry, and allowing fans the opportunity to purchase some of their favorite novelty items on the show floor.”

Many hardware and game title developers will be on hand to present their latest wares to the public, although GameStop didn’t provide a list of specific companies as of yet, save for Warner Bros. and its Injustice 2 game.

Registration for the event will kick off on June 1st, with general admission tickets going for $40, and special VIP passes available for $110, including early access to the show floor, admission to the Injustice 2 tournament, access to a special VIP lounge, and a swag bag of gaming goodies.

More details on the forthcoming expo event can be found on the official page. It may be a one-day event, but it seems like an ideal stop for any gamers that may be in Vegas at the time.
