David Harbour’s performance as Chief Hopper in Stranger Things solidified the character as a fan-favorite in the series, with the actor’s off-screen persona possibly being nearly as endearing. A fan recently asked Harbour if he would officiate her wedding, with the actor promising to get ordained if she got 125,000 retweets.

In addition to the number of retweets, the actor also added stipulations, clarifying, “Provided date works with s3 shooting schedule, I will get ordained and perform [the] ceremony. I get to read an esteemed love letter of my choosing, and after the cake is officially cut, I get the very first piece.”

Harbour’s tweet has over 100,000 retweets, yet the original tweet itself has only slightly over 70,000, so it’s unclear which tweet needs to cross the threshold for the event to occur.

It may seem like a huge request to make of a popular actor, but Harbour recently made good on a similar proposition that flew under many fans’ radars.

Back in October, a fan asked Harbour how many retweets she’d need for the star to pose with her in her senior photos, which also came with stipulations from the actor.

Over two months later, photos emerged online showing that Harbour followed through on the promise, bringing the fan to Netflix headquarters for the memorable photo shoot.

“Voted most likely to hijack someone’s high school senior photos 24 years later. Many thanks to @postydamaris and her kind family and @iamtommyg photography for making a dream come true and proving my high school classmates right!!” Harbour captioned the collage of photos.

With the attention the actor has been getting for helping fans’ wishes come true, we can assume he will have to heighten the stipulations and be more selective about these requests, yet the actor seems to enjoy the interactions with fans as much as those making the requests.

As Harbour teased in his tweet, we can also assume that conflicts with shooting the upcoming season of Stranger Things could pose some problems, but it also means Hopper will return with all new dance moves to Netflix sooner rather than later.

The first two seasons of Stranger Things are currently available on Netflix.
