Oh, boy. When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans can be a valuable ally or a meme-generating mob. The passionate fandom is never late when it comes to social media reactions, and fans of the MCU were right on time when Marvel Studios dropped its final poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Following the release of the film’s last trailer, the company hoped to stun fans with a new theatrical poster featuring the movie’s biggest characters.

However, things didn’t go as planned.

Over on Twitter, netizens have signaled their disbelief at Spider-Man: Homecoming and its newest poster. The overly busy image has been torn apart for its dramatic tone, crowded cast, and sterilized coloring. The Marvel fandom has since responded in the best way possible by poking fun at the poster with self-made edits and photoshop explorations.
