Being a superhero isn’t easy but the job becomes more manageable when you have someone looking out for you. In the coming weeks, fans will see just how much Iron Man’s mentorship of Peter Parker will help Spider-Man grow in the wake of Captain America: Civil War when Spider-Man: Homecoming drops. And, one day in the future, the Queens vigilante may get to tutor Miles Morales on the big screen.

Recently, Tom Holland and the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming held a press junket in New York for the Marvel-Sony feature. It was during the panel that Holland admitted (via ScreenRant) he would be all for mentoring Miles Morales’ Spider-Man somewhere down the road.
“That would be something that I would be very up for doing, it’s something that I would really, really hope to happen,” Holland explained. “I think Miles Morales is a great character, I think it would be fantastic to have an actor of color playing a superhero on screen and I just think it’s going to be something very cool and something very exciting for this universe.”
For awhile, fans petitioned Marvel and Sony to bring Miles into Spider-Man: Homecoming. Rumors persisted that Donald Glover would play the hero, but the actor’s age and current casting descriptions refute the rumor. If Miles is brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it won’t likely happy until the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming gets released, but there is one actor out there already vying for the job.
In a chat with ScreenRant, RJ Cyler from the recent Power Rangers movie admitted he wants to play Miles.
“I’d definitely want to be Miles Morales in Spider-Man”, said Cyler. “That’s my dream role, to be honest, to play Miles Morales because, for one, I know that I would totally geek out the entire time because Spider-Man is my favorite superhero. I have a Spider-Man steering wheel, Spider-Man floor mats, that’s just me. So that’s my perfect role, that’s my ideal role for the future. Rather distant, or some other time, you know?”
Marvel Studios has no announced any plans to bring Miles into the MCU, and Sony has remained quiet about any such announcement. The latter studio has its hands full with several Spider-Man spinoff films like Venom and Silver & Black. Marvel is also preoccupied with its growing MCU lineup, so the debut of Miles Morales may have to be put off for the foreseeable future.
