In Captain America: Civil War, we witnessed just a small glimpse of how powerful Scarlet Witch can be, and while her history and origins are different than her comic book counterpart, there is still a lot there that the movie universe can explore.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen was asked if she’d be open to a Wanda Maximoff solo project. She didn’t rule it out, but if done it would need to progress the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some meaningful way.

“It’s not something I’m opposed to, but it’s also something that has to make a lot of sense. I wouldn’t just do it just to do it. It’d have to make sense for how it advances in the world. But I’d be open to talking about it. I’d never say no to just an idea.”

Olsen has embraced the character wholeheartedly, and any excuse to get more of her on screen would be welcome. It would require a deft touch, but Marvel has shown that they can do that when needed. Since her abilities are more magic based, I would love to see her and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange meet up at some point, as their worlds are similar.

If we were to get a solo project, it probably wouldn’t be until phase 5, as the schedule for phase 4 is already starting to fill up, but that would give the writers time to flesh out the Wanda and Vision dynamic they started in Civil War.
