Fan Mashes Adventure Time With X-Men Just In Time For Apocalypse

There’s nothing quite as excellent as a good mash-up. Merging two corners of fandom together is a time-honored tradition, and often comes up with some truly inspired designs.

Case in point: artist Katie Goodrich’s “X-Men Adventure Time.” The mashup is just delightful, with designs that are so natural you wonder just how no one had come up with these before. Finn as Cyclops, Ice King as Magneto, Marceline as Psylocke – and they’re all utterly gorgeous. These truly look like Adventure Time characters dressing as X-Men characters in the best possible way. Jake as Wolverine is truly inspired. Goodrich also has a Leia Organa / Day of the Dead mashup on her site, as well as some original art of some adorable monsters that’s worth checking out.

Adventure Time season seven finale airs tomorrow night at 7:30pm ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the next place fans can see the X-Men characters, as it hits theaters on Friday, May 27, 2017. Many of the characters that Goodrich chose, like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Magneto, Psylocke, and yes, Wolverine, are featured in the film [click here to read our review]. They do not, sadly, ever say “Mathematical!” or any of the other fun quotables from Adventure Time, so this mashup just has to live in your wonderful world of imagination for now.
