It appears many friendships were knit together between both the characters and cast members with Marvel’s The Defenders.

In a newly surfaced photo from the set of Marvel’s latest Netflix series, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox is seen knitting with Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter. Based on the well-made bag hanging from Ritter’s chair, it appears she is the expert in this case and Cox is likely taking a few tips on how to knit.

The collaboration and crossovers were larger than what fans see on their TV screens in The Defenders. In fact, many of the minds behind the individual series which have already aired on Netflix were involved.
“Early on was the most involvement,” Defenders showrunner Marco Ramirez told ComicBook.com. “We had lots of conversations. It was just, basically, checking in with [Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg]. At that point it was just Mel and [Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Cokers], [Iron First showrunner] Scott Buck hadn’t… Iron Fist was still a seed. We hadn’t seen anyone yet or read scripts. But it was just checking in with them, and it was mostly through Marvel, but it was kind of pitching, ‘This is the story I’d like to tell for Jessica, on Defenders. This story I’d like to tell for Luke on Defenders. Does that more or less jive with where you think you want to go?”
From there, bringing the character together was just piecing together the puzzle. “‘How can we kind of find a nice place, so that JJ lands in a place that kind of sends her right into JJ two, and the same with Luke, you know?’” Ramirez said. “So it was really collaborative and really lovely. We’re all in the same building, so it was a lot of just walking across the hall, sitting on Cheo Coker’s couch and being like, ‘What up dude! Let’s talk about story.’ And that was really fun.”
The Defenders is available now on Netflix.
