Newly released concept art shows a message from Tony Stark in the hologram shining against Parker’s ceiling.
“Swing by the tower, got some new upgrades you should see,” the message said. Golf clap for Tony on the clever word choices with “swing by.” While this specific message did not make the cut of Civil War, the movie was still loaded with Disney and Marvel Easter Eggs throughout its runtime.
The message is shown in the concept art below.
Of course, the “upgrades” remark will prompt speculation over whether or not Tony is planning to hand over an Iron-Spider suit to Peter Parker and the Russo Brothers may not have wanted such a discussion at the end of their movie. As for whether or not the Iron-Spider suit will be donned by Parker in Homecoming, the answer is, “No,” though a new Iron Man suit will likely make an appearance.
Following his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, the next adventure of Spider-Man is coming in 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be directed by Jon Watts and star Tom Holland as Peter Parker, spanning a time frame of both pre- and post-Civil War. Joining Holland in the cast are Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Logan Marshall-Green and Donald Glover.
Several other designs for Spider-Man’s signal were considered. Though they didn’t make the cut of the final film, you can check them out in the gallery below.
Captain America: Civil War is now available on blu-ray and Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7, 2017.
