When Eminem's "Rap God" asked why be a king when you could be a god, he hadn't thought of Thor. The Asgardian is both those things and a little more in the newest TV spot for Thor: Ragnarok.
An international TV spot for the Thor sequel just hit the Internet, and fans have South Korea to thank. The trailer may have Korean subtitles, but its dialogue is all English and even features some new quips.
The reel starts with Thor as he addresses an unnamed friend who winds up being the Hulk. The hero explains he's gathering a team after learning Hela has taken over Asgard. The god even bemoans the loss of his beloved hammer which he tells Bruce Banner is "still pretty fresh."
Much of the footage contained in the Thor: Ragnarok spot has been hashed out in trailers, but this reel does focus on Thor and Loki. The two brothers are shown pairing up with one another, and fans will be glad to see the mismatched pair reunite.
Still, nothing can compare to the reel's end. The TV spot comes to a close as Hela mocks Thor about his power. The villain reminds the hero she is the goddess of death before asking what Thor was the god of. Clearly, the hero answers when he comes bounding down from the sky with a bolt of lightning in hand.
And, yes - that is also lightning in Thor's eyes.
