Neill Blomkamp Reveals New Alien Pulse Rifle

Neill Blomkamp's latest Alien 5 teaser image is of a new and improved Pulse Rifle.

"We all knew there would be pulse rifles," Neill Blomkamp wrote on Instagram. "Obviously. Now with added RIS" When he says "RIS" he means Rail Interface System, which is a generic term for attaching accessories to firearms.

The M41A Pulse Rifle first appeared in James Cameron's 1986 film Aliens. It was the primary infantry weapon of the United States Colonial Marine Corps of the late 22nd century.
