The Conjuring: Last Rites Comes Home With Exclusive First Look at Chilling Special Features

The final chapter of the most chilling horror franchise around is about to make its way into your living room. The Conjuring: Last Rites represents the fourth main installment in the Ed and Lorraine Warren film series, and it closes the book on Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s tenures with the characters. After its theatrical debut at the start of the month, The Conjuring: Last Rites is readying its foray into video on-demand platforms.

Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday that The Conjuring: Last Rites will become available for purchase or rental from digital retailers on October 7th. The 4K UHD and Blu-ray release will follow on November 25th. To celebrate the announcement, ComicBook has partnered with Warner Bros. to reveal an exclusive clip from “Last Rites: An Era Ends,” one of the featurettes included on the home release. You can check it out below!

That featurette seen in the video is one of three behind-the-scenes special features included on this home release. That feature is the longest of the trio, running a total of eight minutes and 45 seconds.

In addition to “An Era Ends,” The Conjuring: Last Rites home release includes a featurette called “The Conjuring: Crafting Scares,” which is just a few seconds shorter, and “Michael Chaves: Believer,” which runs just over seven minutes. Between the three special features included, there is over 24 minutes of bonus content to watch.

Those three featurettes are the only special features currently announced to be part of The Conjuring: Last Rites digital and physical editions.

Here’s the official synopsis for the fourth and final Conjuring installment:

โ€œThe Conjuring: Last Rites delivers another thrilling chapter of the iconic Conjuring cinematic universe, based on real events.ย Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reunite for one last case as renowned, real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in a powerful and spine-chilling addition to the global box office-breaking franchise.”

In addition to the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites on October 7th, Warner Bros. will be releasing a four-movie Conjuring collection on digital platforms, as well as a nine-film collection that gathers up the entire Conjuring universe. There will be a four-movie Conjuring collection released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 25th.

There has been no word on the full collection coming to 4K UHD, but that almost feels inevitable at some point. With The Conjuring finally receiving a 4K restoration earlier this year, The Conjuring 2 is the only entry in the four-film series that doesn’t have a 4K yet. If and when that happens, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the entire collection put together.
