Back in 2003, the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise debuted to rave reviews, box office bank, and even some Oscar recognition. However, in the three films since Curse Of The Black Pearl, Pirates has taken a steep dive.

Each film in the original trilogy received worse reviews than its predecessor, and the fourth film – which departed from the the style and storyline of the series – was bashed even harder than the rest.

Many have felt that the series has lost its way over the years, so the upcoming fifth installment – Dead Men Tell No Tales – has been met with quite a bit of uncertainty.

The new movie screened at CinemaCon early this week, and fans are surprised to see the that the reactions from the press have been overwhelmingly positive.
