Mystique X-men Days of Future Past

The MPAA has given X-Men: Days of Future Past a PG-13 rating. The reasons given are mostly what you'd expect from an X-Men movie: sequences of intense sci-fi violence and action, some suggestive material, language and nudity. Nobody should get any ideas about that last bit though. Nudity hardly equates to a sex scene (which would likely garner an R rating). Previous X-Men films have had similar notes in their ratings, usually referring to the fact that Mystique walks around naked for much of the movie. X-Men: First Class – arguably the most sexual of the X-Men films, given Mystique's attempt to seduce Magneto, Emma Frost psychically seducing a man, and both Emma and Moira MacTaggert stripping down their underwear at the Hellfire Club – received the same PG-13 rating, with the MPAA noting that it contained some sexual content and partial nudity. The X-Men: Days of Future Past rating does leave out the "partial" part, so maybe there's a bit more nudity than we're used to in our X-Men movies. Also, Hugh Jackman usually has a lot of shirtless scenes, but the MPAA never seems to mention that. X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters May 23.
