Divergent: Insurgent Trailer Released

The first action-filled teaser trailer for Divergent: Insurgent has finally hit the web.

The sequel to this year's Divergent continues the story of Tris and her rebellion against the oppressive government controlling her people. In the trailer, Tris tries to rescue her mother from a burning building. But since Tris' mother died in Divergent, and the building starts defying gravity through a smoldering, post apocalyptic city, the sequence is most likely a dream.

In Divergent, the Dauntless faction that Tris belongs to routinely takes a serum bringing their worst nightmares to life. So while epic, the trailer's entire scenario is most likely occurring in Tris' head. But it suggests that Tris' grief over her dead mother will drive the character throughout the sequel.

Divergent: Insurgent is the second installment in the Divergent Trilogy. Based off of Veronica Roth's popular dystopian novels on a post-apocalyptic Chicago, the story follows Tris' fight to fix her caste-based society. The series stars Shailene Woodley at Tris, and Theo James as the mysterious Dauntless soldier, Four. Robert Schwentke, whose past credits include Red and R.I.P.D. will direct the sequel.
