The United States finally gets to see what most of the rest of the world has been looking at for the past day. Early Friday, Google launched an interactive Doctor Who Google Doodle on their homepage in the UK and other countries around the world to honor the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who. However, Google did not launch the Doctor Who Google Doodle on the United States Google homepage on Friday, because it was the anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. Google apparently wanted to avoid criticism of featuring a TV icon over a former U.S. President, so the Google homepage had no Google Doodle on Friday, November 22, 2013. However at exactly midnight, Google launched the Doctor Who Google Doodle on the Google U.S. homepage to be the featured Google Doodle for Saturday, November 23, 2013.
