Google Dooodle Doctor Who

In the UK and several other countries, the Google Doodle for today honors Doctor Who. The Google Doodle, which is being referred to as the Whodle, marks the 50th anniversary of the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who. Over 4,000 fans signed a petition requesting a Google Doodle honoring Doctor Who, so today's interactive Google Doodle fulfills the request of Doctor Who fans. The Doctor Who Google Doodle is actually a multi-level game, which incorporates eleven Doctors. In the game, players try to collect letters to spell out Google, while steering clear of Daleks. The Doctor Who Google Doodle is not currently showing on the United States Google homepage. While Doctor Who is a British series, the show has a huge fan base in the United States, so many are questioning why there is no Doctor Who Google Doodle on the U.S. Google homepage. Today also marks the 50th anniversary of the John F. Kennedy assassination, so it seems that Google might have wanted to steer clear of criticism of honoring a TV character over a former president on the U.S. Google homepage. In response to fans criticizing Google for featuring Doctor Who and not John F. Kennedy on the Google Doodle, Google Canada offered the following clarifications via Twitter. Google Canada wrote, "It's worth noting that the Google US homepage (https://Google.com ) does not have a doodle today." Google Canada added, "The US homepage does not have a doodle today. Google has commemorated the life of JFK in the past: https://goo.gl/s7yxNu"
