Evil Empire #1 Preview From BOOM! Studios

BOOM! Studios has released a preview of Evil Empire #1. The comic comes from Say Anything frontman Max Bemis, hot off of his first critically acclaimed comic book series, Polarity, and artist Ransom Getty. Evil Empire is told through the eyes of an underground rapper named Reese, who bears witness to society's evolution into an evil empire. The presence of an evil empire for a hero to fight against is a common trope in fiction, like the Empire in Star Wars. Evil Empire takes the unique approach of watching the empire form rather than coming into the story with the empire already in power. This gives Bemis and Getty the opportunity to explore how citizens of a society could let such an empire form, and whether or not they secretly welcome it. Evil Empire #1 will be released March 5, 2014.
