While you are watching the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, be sure to check out the multitude of movie trailers during the Big Game's famous commercial breaks. According to Variety, "nearly every studio will push pics [films] during the big game, airing on Feb. 1."

Paramount will advertise for high profile titles including Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek and G.I. Joe. Universal Studios plans to show ads for the upcoming Land of the Lost live action movie, starring Will Ferrell, and the latest installment in the Fast and The Furious franchise.

Dreamworks Studios will advertise a film called Monsters Vs. Aliens. Don't let the title fool you; it doesn't involve the type of aliens that love to latch onto people's faces and spew acid everywhere. This 'Aliens' is a CGI animated film in which the US Army drafts a group of 1950s B movie type monsters to combat an alien invasion of earth. The movie, which has a trailer available on YouTube, looks like a cross between Chicken Little and Monsters Inc.

Noticeable absent from the listing of films planning to advertise during Super Bowl XLIII is Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Warner Bros.' Watchmen. However, Warner Bros. has been actively promoting the Watchmen movie during the NFL playoffs, so it wouldn't be surprising if a trailer does show up during the Big Game.

According to Variety, 85% of spots for the Super Bowl XLIII were bought in September. There is still a chance Fox may choose to advertise for Wolverine or one of their other movies at the last minute. More recent reports estimate that only 10% of the ad time for the event remain, so if Fox is going to jump on board, they'd better get busy, bub!
