Avengers: Age of Ultron packed 2 hours and 21 minutes worth of amazing moments. Be warned, below are five moments from Age of Ultron which will serve as spoilers for major events of the film if you have not yet seen it.
Honorable mentions include Ultron's "Strings," introductory and "He's winding up," speeches, the opening of the film on an action packed continuous shot, and the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight.
5. "The elevator is not worthy."
Towards the end of the film, we saw a rare moment of harmony between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. While most of the film found the two leaders disagreeing on just about every topic, the ending sang a different tune. As Rogers and Stark walked on either side of Thor in the New Avengers Facility, they jointly mocked Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.
Both struggled with understanding how the hammer can be only picked up by those who are "worthy," but will not budge for those who aren't. The conversation lead to one of the more memorable lines in the film, when Rogers and Stark debated on why a person cannot lift the hammer, but if you put Mjolnir in an elevator, the elevator will rise. "The elevator is not worthy," they joked.
4. Black Widow rides the Hulk
The Bruce Banner/Natasha Romanov was an unexpected aspect of the film. Black Widow was apparently the only Avenger capable of calming the Hulk in rage mode with a "lullaby," as the team called it. One of the best moments between the two came not during their kiss, but after Romanov pushed Banner into a seemingly endless fall only to have the Hulk emerge from the pit - it was when Black Widow wrapped arms around Hulk's neck and rode the big green monster as he launched himself onto the Helicarrier.
3. "Avengers A---...."
Rogers found his new team of Avengers, consisting of Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Black Widow, and Vision. Of course, we were all left hanging when Rogers began to utter the phrase made famous in the Marvel comics, "Avengers assemble." All we got this time was, "Avengers A...." but it will make things that much sweeter when we finally hear the call to action in the future. Civil War, maybe?
2. Quicksilver's Death
While the death of a beloved character is rarely seen as a "Best Moment," Quicksilver's is exceptional. Quicksilver started as an enemy to the Avengers. He was young and full of hate. By the time he met his maker, he went through the ultimate character arc. To start the film, Pietro and his twin sister, Wanda, attacked the Avengers outside of Baron Von Strucker's fortress, but upon realizing Ultron's horrible plan, he and his sister decided to put their differences aside and join the Avengers in saving citizens and stopping the maniacal robot.
Quicksilver died a hero. Hawkeye readied himself for the inevitable, in hopes of saving a little boy, despite having a family of his own. Quicksilver sprinted to the rescue and rushed the two out of harm's way. In doing so, he made the ultimate sacrifice, creating one of the most shocking moment of the entire film. "You didn't see that coming?"
1. The Vision picks up Thor's hammer.
The Vision picking up Mjolnir is hands down the most memorable moment from Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's the moment that made theater erupt with laughs, clapping, and happiness. Almost every Avenger tried to pick up Thor's hammer during the party at Avenger's tower, some even teaming up to do so, but to no avail. Shortly after the Vision is brought to life, he picks up the hammer with absolutely no difficulty and hands it to Thor, putting even the both the audience and the super heroes they're watching on screen in awe.
