Marvel Comics has announced that Jonathan Hickman's Avengers books, Avengers and New Avengers, will be jumping forward eight months this September. The double-sized Avengers #35 and New Avengers #24 will bring readers to the day of the Final Incursion, the event that Hickman's epic Avengers saga has been building towards for two years. "After the cataclysmic events of the Avengers tie-in to Original Sin and the revelation as to what the Illuminati has been up to all this time, we jump the storyline ahead to the moment where time runs out for everybody," reveals Marvel Senior VP – Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. The two covers for the issue reveal that a lot has occurred in the eight months that have passed, with the Avengers being greatly changed and the introduction of a new Cabal. "In addition to setting the table for the astonishing climax of Jonathan Hickman's run, we'll also be providing a glimpse into the immediate future of our characters and what changes await them over the course of the next eight months of publishing," promises Brevoort. "This isn't some maybe-future; this is the real deal, what's awaiting the Marvel Universe in the coming year." Avengers #35 will be illustrated by Jim Cheung. New Avengers #24 will feature art from Mike Deodato. Both issue ship in September.
