Marvel Comics has announced Thanos: The Infinity Finale, the final chapter of creator Jim Starlin's latest graphic novel trilogy following the Mad Titan. Starlin will be reteaming with artist Ron Lim to finish the story that has run through Thanos: The Infinity Revelation and Thanos: The Infinity Relativity."
Well, Thanos committed suicide at the end of Infinity Relativity, when he couldn't escape the teleportational limbo Annihilus trapped him in," Starlin says. "Warlock is a captive of Annihilus and having his newly acquired infinite power being drained and utilized by the Bug King. Annihilus is wreaking havoc on the Posiverse, unaware that the end of all time and space is heading his way. Pip is stranded in the Negative Zone, trying to rescue his pal Warlock."
Starlin also teased that plenty of other cosmic Marvel characters may show up before Thanos has his final conflict with Annihilus.
"Quite a few of Marvel's more cosmic characters will be quite unwillingly showing up in this story, including but by no means limited to the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Gladiator, Thor, the Hulk, Black Bolt, Doctor Doom, etc.," he says. "There's also a very special and unexpected guest star stepping onto the stage near the end of our tale."
Thanos: The Infinity Finale will be released in 2016.
