Pictures From October Comic And Horror Festival staff visited the October Comic & Horror Festival in Nashville, Tennessee on October 20 & 21, 2007. The festival is run by longtime comic and horror fan Marc Ballard and features comics, toys, games, star wars, anime, movie items, and more.

Several media and comic celebrities appear at the annual festival. Horror celebrities we spotted this year included John Dugan, who played Grandpa in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and John Saxon, who played Lt. Thompson in A Nightmare On Elm Street. Comic book companies represented ranged from larger publishers like Marvel to smaller independent publishers. staff sat down for a lengthy interview with Marvel Marketing Manager Jim McCann who gave us the scoop on several upcoming series from Marvel. McCann was at the convention collecting artist submissions for ChesterQuest. Independent publishers included Jupiter Press, Torc Press, and more. Jupiter artists Mitch Foust, Jim Hall, and Dean Zachary were in attendance.

There were also a number of independent filmmakers such as ZP International. Also at the convention was Jackson Bostwick, who played Captain Marvel in the Saturday morning cartoon series Shazam! Bostwick recently wrote and directed his own feature film called Bloody Mary-Lite.comic-convention-mitch-foust.jpgcomic-convention-jim-hall.jpgcomic-convention-dean-zachary.jpgcomic-convention-zp-movies.jpgcomic-convention-torc-press.jpgcomic-convention-john-dugan.jpg
