Playmates Toys will introduce its new 2014 line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys, based on the Nickelodeon CG-animated television series, at Toy Fair. Playmates has been creating Turtles toys for 30 years and the property has seen a burst in popularity recently thanks to the successful new TV series. "The enormous success of the toy line since its epic return in 2012 demonstrates the timeless appeal of the heroes in a half shell," said Karl Aaronian, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Playmates Toys.  "Playmates Toys is proud to continue the evolution of the toy line, which offers unique new features and scenarios that provide kids as young as three with open-ended and imaginative Ninja play." "Playmates Toys have outdone themselves with a robust 2014 product assortment that truly captures the heart and soul of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," said Manuel Torres, Senior Vice President, Global Toys and Publishing. "The introduction of Half-Shell Heroes and Z-Line Ninjas, coupled with the amazing refresh of our core line will have our fans oozing with excitement! We're looking forward to another monumental year for Turtles." The new lineup will include 25 new additions to the Basic Action Figure collection, including Casey Jones, Mutagen Man and Slash, plus a new line of Ninja Action Deluxe figures with wind-up action, new 11'' Interactive Talking Turtles, new Stretch N Shout Action Figures with battle cries that change pitch depending on how stretched out the figures are, and Throw N' Battle Deluxe figures that begin in a stealth mode and then spring into battle mode when thrown at an enemy. Playmates will also introduce Z-Line Ninja Playsets that attach to walls and allow Turtles action figures to zip from wall to wall around the room. The sets will include the Freefall Fire Escape and Window Wipeout, the deluxe Water Tower Washout and Billboard Breakout, and, for the ultimate fans, the Construction Crane Cascade playset. Playmates will also introduce the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Blimp that inflates to a 30 inch length and can hold up to five Turtles action figures. The new line will be debuted at Toy Fair, February 16-19.
