Niantic, who also made the location gameplay based Ingress, is aware of the server issues and is working hard to get things stable. In the meantime, though, adding new territories to the mix wouldn’t be the smartest endeavor, and so Niantic CEO John Hanke told Business Insider that the rollout into the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and other countries is”paused until we’re comfortable.”
Thank you for your patience. We have been working to fix the server issues. We will continue rolling out #PokemonGO to new countries soon.

The official Pokemon GO Twitter account echoed the CEO’s sentiments, saying “Thank you for your patience. We have been working to fix the server issues. We will continue rolling out #PokemonGO to new countries soon.”
While the pause is unfortunate for Pokemon fans in those territories, it will hopefully give the developers time to stabilize the game, enough so that those fans can actually enjoy the game when it does release. The game remains incredibly addictive, but when more people are conversing about whether your game is up and running rather than about how fun it is, there’s a problem.
We’ll let you know when the company resumes their international launch.
