Adi Shankar, producer of The Grey and Power/Ranger, will make his directorial debut on Gods and Secrets, a dark superhero drama coming to HBO, according to Deadline.
Gods and Monsters is heavily influenced by Alan Moore's Watchmen, and will explore the dark side of superhero genre conventions. The story is set in a world where superheroes a part of the global celebrity culture. When tragedy strikes the Guardians of Justice, secrets are revealed that will set the planet on the path to war.
The series stars WWE star Diamon Dallas Page, Jackson Rathbone (Twilight Saga), Kellan Lutz, Sharni Vinson and Andy Milonakis.
