Steven Grant and Mike Zeck Are Damned At Boom! Studios

Boom! Studios tonight issued a visual press release containing the image at left, along with the message, "Boom! Studios and Steven Grant are Damned." The series, written by 2 Guns creator Grant, will return to print in July, just ahead of the release of 2 Guns in theaters on August 2 with Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. It will be Washington's first-ever movie based on a comic book.

"Damned was the last major collaboration between Mike Zeck and me, the final result of an investigation into the possibilities of crime comics that we'd begun with The Punisher mini-series and Return To Big Nothing," explains Grant.  "It's very gratifying to have a publisher like Boom! respond so strongly to it, and very exciting to have it back in print for a new audience."

When Mick Thorne is paroled and released from prison, the only thing on his mind is keeping a promise. But in keeping that promise to deliver a message to his dead cellmate's sister, he draws the attention of the local crime boss. This sharply designed collection of the classic noir in the vein of Richard Stark's Parker novels includes the entire series plus a brand new foreword by Grant and character studies by Zeck.
