SyFy has put in an order for a new series from The Walking Dead Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd (via Variety). The series, titled Hunters, is based on the novel Alien Hunter, written by Whiteley Strieber. The book follows a Philadelphia police officer after his wife disappears, which leads him to a secret government organization hunting down otherworldly terrorists.
Hunters is set to premiere in 2016. The series I being developed by Universal Cable Productions, with Valhalla Entertainment Producing.
"As a longtime fan of Whitley's, I am absolutely thrilled to collaborate with everyone at Syfy and UCP, as well as the uber-talented showrunner, Natalie Chaidez, to bring 'Hunters' to life," said Hurd.
That other show Hurd is involved with, The Walking Dead, returns for its fifth season on AMC October 12.
