Krang

The trailer officially confirmed Krang as the "big bad" of Out of the Shadows, as he's briefly shown peering out of his giant android suit. Krang first appeared in the 1987 cartoon as an exiled warlord from Dimension X. Entering into an uneasy alliance with Shredder, Krang was both "the brains" and the brawn, as his exo-suit's bulk and sizechanging abilities were a handful for the Turtles many times.
Krang appearing in Out of the Shadows opens the doors for Dimension X, the Utroms, and even the Rock Soldiers. There's one big bit of Turtle lore that will definitely appear in the movie and that's the...
The Technodrome

You can't have Krang without the Technodrome! While some leaked toys confirmed the Technodrome would appear in the movie, we got our first good look at Krang's spherical mega-fortress. While the Technodrome typically looked like a giant tank in 1980s cartoon, this Technodrome hovers menacingly in the air above New York City. That means Out of the Shadows Technodrome might actually be functional, as opposed to the cartoon version, which almost always was broken down.
Rocksteady vs. Casey Jones
![rocksteady rocksteady](https://media.comicbook.com/2016/02/rocksteady-168773.png)
We got a brief glimpse of an unmasked Casey Jones getting chased by a very angry Rocksteady. Out of the Shadows seems to be treating Bebop and Rocksteady as major threats to the Turtles, as Rocksteady in particular is shown tossing cars, driving tanks and generally out-muscling the Turtles in his brief appearances. Not only does this sequence show how massive Rocksteady is compared to non-mutated humans, it also raises some questions as to what Casey Jones will be doing in the film.
Raphael Hits a Plane

While TMNT will have plenty of action, it's still a goofy kid's movie at heart. Case in point: during a high stakes fight on top of an airplane, Raphael takes a tumble and ends up on the plane's windshield. As the trailer ends, he slowly slides off the windshield, leaving a small trailer behind. If you liked the humor of the first TMNT movie, it looks like there will be plenty of laughs in the next film.
The Turtle Assault Van Has Nunchucks!

During a high speed sequence in the Turtle Assault Van, Michelangelo shows off one of the vehicle's brand new features. It seems that the Assault Van has giant robot arms, and Michelangelo uses them to wield a giant set of nunchucks. While the nunchucks take out some of the Turtles' foes, Michelangelo accidentally breaks the arms when he raises them up in celebration as the van goes under a bridge.
