X-Men Star Jennifer Lawrence Speaks Out After Trump's Election

Many Hollywood stars have spoken out about the news that Donald Trump had been elected as the next president of the United States. Many of these celebrities had previously stated that they would move out of the country if the business mogul was to be elected.

A lot of these icons have been speaking ill of the President-elect, after his campaign drew attention to racist and sexist ideals. Many felt that Trump wasn't a good representation of our country, after he spoke out against Muslims, women, and the LBGTQ+ community.

On Thursday, Jennifer Lawrence made her feelings about the election known in an editorial piece for Broadly. The X-Men and Hunger Games star took the opportunity to call out voters for electing such a man. However, Lawrence used most of her piece encouraging our nation to keep moving forward, even in the face of such an election.

"Do not let this defeat you — let this enrage you!" Lawrence writes. "Let it motivate you! Let this be the fire you didn't have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman — don't be afraid, be loud!"

Lawrence went on to speak directly to the young women of the country. After Trump was recorded making various innaproproiate remarks regarding women, many girls felt scared at the thought of his presidency. The actress, who rose to fame as a youg woman herself, took some time to enourage the female youth of America.

"We're all allowed to be sad that the present isn't what we thought it was," Lawrence said. "But we mustn't be defeated. We will keep educating ourselves and working twice as hard as the man next to us because we know now that it is not fair. It is not fair in the workplace, so you make it impossible to fail."
