Though it's been more than 10 years since the Plastics graced us with the presence, it looks like there could be more Mean Girls in the works. Or, at least, star Lindsay Lohan is definitely up for another movie. What's more, the actress has even started writing a bit of the film herself.

During an interview with CNN, Lohan discussed the fact that she has always wanted to do a sequel. Turns out, she has actually been pushing for one for a few years now. She's even spoken about it to Tina Fey.

"I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2. It is not in my hands," Lohan said. "I know Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels and al of Paramount [Pictures] are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it."

Seems like Lohan isn't ready to give up on the idea of seeing the catty group of girls back up on the silver screen. When the film first came out in 2004, it was a hit and there is still quite the fan following. The film featured a group of "plastic" queen bee type girls who are secretly being sabotaged from the inside by Lohan's character – a new transfer student. Of course, things get out of hand and go completely, and hilariously awry.

Of course, a sequel, more than ten years later, probably wouldn't be able to take place in a high school. Lohan, as well as her co-stars, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Charbert, and Amanda Seyfried, don't resemble the high schoolers they once did. Though, it looks like Lohan has addressed that in her sequel pitch.

"People really love the movie," she said. "How do you top that? I was with [writer] Tina Fey the other day and I said, 'We should do another Mean Girls, like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating.' That would be really funny."

Fey, however, is currently working on a Mean Girls musical that, hopefully, will be released soon. Though Fey said, jokingly, that it won't open until 2027, after Hamilton closes, it is set to eventually premiere at a Washington D.C. theater.

As for the sequel, Lohan admitted that she has already a treatment for the film, so, there could be a film eventually. What do you think? Could there be a sequel to Mean Girls?
