Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction is considered one of the best films of all time. It’s Tarantino and Roger Avery’s sophomore effort that is written for the screen like a novel that has an almost endless line of characters. We are tossed into the middle of various stories and then left to navigate the gory cinematic terrain through the eyes of Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, and Butch Coolidge, three men who know their way around a gun.
Venturing into a land of philosophical hitmen, we are tossed into a violent jungle of gangs, drugs, and surprisingly hopeful protagonists who are simply making ends meet. But through this story, our characters have some beautiful, blood-spattered moments that are jolting and leave us awkwardly fiddling our fingers.
So sit back and enjoy this carnival of wrathful moments from Pulp Fiction…

Ezekiel 25:17
Probably the most famous of all of these classic scenes, the ‘Ezekiel 25:17’ speech features Samuel L. Jackson as his lovably animated self. He’s kicking ass and taking names, and doing it the “righteous” way.
The funny thing is the real ‘Ezekiel 25:17’ is much more concise and to the point than what Jackson recites. It does have the same backbone to it, but the original version does differ:
And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
But ‘tomayto, tomahto’ right? It’s still an awesome scene that never gets old.ย
Some Adrenaline For Mia
Of all the moments in Pulp Fiction, this one makes me the most uncomfortable. It’s a piercing scene that makes our skin crawl and is a literal jolt of adrenaline for Mia, but also one for viewers.ย
Tarantinoย shines here, as the editing right before we see that needle go in her spotlights some almost Hitchcockianย style shots that just add fuel to the fire for our nerves.ย
Eric Stoltzย was also born to play a drug dealer.ย
‘So Pretty Please, With Sugar On Top, Clean The F*cking Car’
It’s simple. The Wolf is the best character in Pulp Fiction. He’s strictly business, nothing more.ย
So what happens when Vincent talks back to him? One of the best lines of the film. That’s what.ย
Butch, Meet Vincent. Vincent, Meet Butch.
During my first viewing of this film, I remember wondering not ‘if,’ but ‘when’ Butch and Vincent would be meeting each other again.
We get a full dose of Tarantinoย gun play in this scene when Butch decides to take Vincent out right after he squeezes one out. But what’s great about this moment is that it’s so casual. At the beginning of the film, would you imagine Vincent beingย taken out in the bathroom…with his own gun? Not at all.
‘I’ma Get Medieval On Your Ass’
Marsellusย Wallace unleashing all hell is hands down the most brutal, angry scene in the entire film. After being saved by a somewhat morally conscious Butch, Marsellusย fires a shotgun round off at Zed that guarantees he will never procreate at all.
What is a nice twist to this plot point, though, is that this deranged situation is the thread that mends Butch and Wallace’s relationship back together.
Beautifully done.ย

Marvin Gets The Raw End Of This Deal
Bottom line: Marvin has really terrible luck.
He survived a bloodbath in his apartment and is in the clear and boom, dead by accident.ย
This is a much darker spot in the movie since Vincent and Jules’ reactions are so run-of-the-mill basic. It’s as if they just lost their friend’s dog.ย
Pumpkin And Honey Bunny Go For Breakfast And Wallets
Don’t mess with this friggin’ couple!
Pumpkin and Honey Bunny may be some low-level natural born killer wannabes, but they are still frightening before they encounter Vincent and Jules.ย
