Set two years after the highly-acclaimed 2014 hit, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, War shows a world that has fallen even further to the likes of the primates. Much of the diplomacy from the old world order is gone, and the apes are going to war to proclaim that the planet is theirs.
The cast from Dawn is not returning for this film, as they were the kinder humans the world had to offer. Instead, a hard-nosed Colonel enters as the leader of mankind. Instead of peace, the Colonel embraces war.
The character is played by Woody Harrelson, and he looks absolutely terrifying.
In his first shot, Colonel turns to stare down Caesar at the edge of a waterfall. As his face is revealed, you can see the dark make-up covering his eyes. It looks like Colonel is completely covert ops, and he is incredibly intimidating.
The next shot featuring Harrelson is what proved that humanity has started to become the villain. Harrelson is straight-shaving his head, as he walks up to a ledge, and overlooks an organized military operation. The shot is very reminiscent of the Nazi regime, and it makes Harrelson look like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with.
