Casey Affleck has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 74th Golden Globe Awards.

The actor received the honor despite the stiff competition of Casey Affleck in Manchester By The Sea, Joel Edgerton in Loving, Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge, Viggo Mortensen in Captain Fantastic, and Denzel Washington in Fences.

While Affleck accepted the award, he thanked all of the cast and crew of Manchester By The Sea. He also thanked his kids for letting him travel around acting, and their mother for giving him every good acting idea he’s ever had.
As the music began playing, Affleck also snuck in a thank you to Denzel Washington, for showing him that “God is good.”
