Today is actor Robert Englund’s birthday.

Best known as horror icon Freddy Krueger, Englund has haunted many movie-goers’ dreams through every official A Nightmare On Elm Street feature (except the reboot we try to forget). As Freddy, Englund has starred in A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, the TV series Freddy’s Nightmares, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, and Freddy Vs. Jason. He voiced Freddy Krueger on an episode of The Simpsons.
But Englund has done more than just invade nightmares. His resume boasts a healthy amount of comic book voice acting, with work on cartoons like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hulk And The Agents of SMASH, Justice League, and The Batman. And I personally always loved his one-off appearance on NBC’s Chuck.
Born in Glendale, California, Englund turns 69 today. Happy Birthday, Robert Englund.
