Last week, news broke that Jason Momoa, the former Game of Thrones star turned DC Films’ Aquaman, was in negotiations to star in Relativity’s remake of The Crow. It may be a while before we get our first official look at Momoa in costume for the film, but artist BossLogic is here to provide us with a hypothetical idea of what Momoa may look like as Eric Draven. The Crow will be a new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult classic comic book that was originally adapted into a 1994 Alex Proyas-directed film starring Brandon Lee. Colin Hardy is currently attached to the reboot. Momoa recently posted a photo of himself with Hardy to Instagram with the hashtag “#sealthedeal.” The only film Hardy is currently attached to that is casting is The Crow, so this was a pretty good hint at things to come.
The Crow follows Eric Draven, a murder victim who is returned from the dead and seeks vengeance on those who murdered him and his fiancรฉ. Rather than a recreation of Proyas’ film, the new The Crow film is said to be a closer adaptation of the original source material.
The Crow remake has had some trouble holding onto its leading men. Luke Evans was the actor most recently attached to play Draven but dropped out in early 2015. Prior to Evans, Tom Hiddleston, and Alexander Skarsgรฅrd were both said to be in talks for the role, but no official deal ever materialized.
