Jim Parsons has dropped some exciting new details about possibly doing another season of The Big Bang Theory. The 43-year-old actor explained that he would be “shocked” if the show didn’t continue with another 11th season.

During an interview with Willie Geist of Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist on NBC, Parsons was asked if he could “shed any light” on whether there will be more Big Bang Theory in the future.

“Unofficial light, but I know everybody wants to,” Parsons said. “Everybody wants to, so I would be shocked if that didn’t happen. I really would be.”

While Parsons’ comments should give fans of the wildly popular comedy series hope for additional episodes, the lead actors – Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco – still have to strike a deal with CBS. Given the amount of money they made last season, it might be a difficult task to bring all the actors back.

President of CBS entertainment, Glenn Geller, recently explained that the company is currently trying to negotiate contracts for another season.

“We are in negotiations, but it is definitely business as usual,” Geller said while talking with Variety at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January. “We are guardedly optimistic that we will make a deal.”

Geller also addressed if the show would continue without either of the three lead stars. “We want to get them all back,” he said. “That’s the goal.”

Back in 2014, Parsons, Galecki, and Cuoco received a massive salary increase that bumped them up to making $1 million per episode.

This past August, 31-year-old Kaley Cuoco said while talking with TV Line: “I think it’s a given that we want to be here. That’s the overall consensus. It might be a sticky road, but if I have anything to do with it, we’d be here for much longer. That’s the goal.”

Be sure to check out the full interview with Jim Parsons when it airs this coming Sunday on Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist on NBC.
