Professional wrestling might be scripted, but it's certainly not easy, and the superstars involved are putting their bodies at risk day in and day out for the audience's entertainment.

Still, that doesn't even begin to compare to watching a loved one deal with pain and suffering. Lucha Underground's Vampiro, who's established a well-fought reputation for being able to take punishment in the ring, wrote a very personal Facebook post about his daughter, and the pain she is currently dealing with. It's been included below.

"Probably one of the most stressful nights that I can remember.
I think I can say I am a hard person...
Been through and seen more than most ... more than I should have..
Hard to describe , but the amount of thick scar tissue I have has made me ... cold? Strong?
No matter what... no matter how strong I think I am... the helplessness I felt tonight seeing my daughter in emergency was pretty heavy.
Getting home... seeing her suffer , a very bad fall down a flight of stairs, has left her with a bad bad concussion and she has torn all of the muscles in her back, some are torn right off the spine .
The pain is horrible and she has just suffered to much in the last year.
A ruptured cist in her abdomen, and concussion that had after affects for 6 months, and now this.
I am a single dad , and her mom ain't around so... it's brutal on me to see her like this.
The outpouring of love from all of you was so unexpected , I am kinda taken aback..
I am overwhelmed by your love and support
Thank you all so much.
This is hard stuff.
I will show her all your messages in the morning .
She can't read right now, the light provokes vomiting and severe migraines.
Again.
Thank you all for everything
I have many tears flowing right now.
Thank you and god bless you all."

Our thoughts go out to Vampiro and his family at this difficult time.

Lucha Underground airs Wednesdays on the El Rey Network.
