The new report from Deadline claims that sources involved with the film have said that production is set to kick off once again following an injury to the franchise’s star Dylan O’Brien. The injury came back in March as O’Brien was said to have been run over by a car and hospitalized with injuries to his face.

Originally, production was supposed to resume in early May of this year but was postponed with The Death Cure‘s release date to give O’Brien a bit more recovery time. Originally, it was slated for release on February 17, 2017 but has been pushed back almost a year to January 12, 2018.

The accident is described as taking place on a set made to look like the back of a train. O’Brien fell from the set and fractured either his cheekbone or orbital socket.

Following the film’s postponement, the crew took work elsewhere but schedules have been worked out to move forward in early 2017 in a new location.

Wes Ball is directing the third and final installment of the YA novel adaptation by James Dashner, scripted for the big screen by T.S. Nowlin.
