Hunnam’s King Arthur will be a bit different from any iteration we’ve seen previously on a journey to the throne “He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor,” Hunnam tells EW. “There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.”
He’ll have to use that “harder edge” to get an upper hand on his tyrannical uncle Vortigen who will likely earn some Joffrey Baratheon-level hatred from audiences. The character has slain Arthur’s brother and father (played by Eric Bana) but has a deadly set of magical powers to help him fend off revenge.
