Nick Jonas, star of the Kingdom series, is in talks to join Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart's Jumanji re-imagining.

The film will be directed by Jake Kasdan and also star Jack Black. It is being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and produced by Ted Field, William Teitler, Matthew Tolmach, and Mike Weber. Lauren Selig will executive producer.

In addition to Kingdom, Jonas has also played roles in Scream Queens, Hawaii Five-O, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

The original Jumanji film, released in 1995, starred Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, and Bebe Neuwirth. The story circulated around a 12-year-old boy who becomes trapped in a board game in 1969, only to be released 26 years later.

Jumanji is set for release July 28, 2017.
