Finding Sausage

Picture this: a theater crowded with little kids excited to see go on an undersea Disney adventure with Finding Dory sees a bunch of animated talking foods on the screen before the movie starts. Some potatoes and carrots look friendly and fun and it's all good until you realize it's an R-rated Seth Rogen film loaded with foul language, sexual jokes, and some sort of weird violence against food.

Sure, those old enough to have gone to theaters for Finding Nemo's original release may have found the trailer humorous, but their kids certainly weren't ready for the brand of humor shoved in their face.

This is just what happened in a theater at the Brenden Concord 14 earlier this month in Brenden, California. Prior to a screening of Finding Dory, a trailer for Seth Rogen's Sausage Party played.

"Playing that trailer was a one-time honest mistake by a theater manager moving screens around in effort to accommodate several large last-minute groups wanting to see Dory," VP of operations Walter Eichinger said in a written statement. "The wrong movie was started by mistake."

"It was caught soon, but not until the trailer played," Eichenger adds. "We regret it, apologize for it, and we are not happy that it happened. We fully realize this trailer is not appropriate for Dory and we would never schedule something like that. "The trailer for Sausage Party is not and never has been scheduled with Dory."

Finding Dory is now playing in theaters. Sausage Party is set for release August 12, 2016.
