While the new project won’t be a game show like the original, you can definitely see the competition influences throughout the new trailer (via EW). The newest footage also sports a few other nods of the cap to longtime fans, including a green monkey, a red jaguar, a silver snake, and of course the all knowing Olmec.
Olmec will be voiced by the original actor Dee Bradley Baker, who recently shared his thoughts on the franchise’s return.
“An entire generation grew up loving Legends of the Hidden Temple. It was my first television series, and it remains one of the most popular projects I’ve ever been lucky enough to have been involved with throughout my career. I’m thrilled that Kirk Fogg and I can once again man the temple as Nickelodeon brings it back in a fresh new way. This rock is once again ready to roll!”
This new entry revolves around three kids named Saide (Isabela Moner), Noah (Colin Critchley), and Dudley (Jet Jurgensmeyer), who decide the jungle tour they’re on isn’t exciting enough and end up getting more than they bargained for when they end up in the obstacle course of the Hidden Temple.
The Legends of the Hidden Temple premieres on Nickelodeon on November 26.
