In a new interview with E! Online, The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun squirmed a little when confronted with the old "no one is safe" tagline that gets the show so much attention.

That's in part because it's been rumored online that his character might be on the chopping block this season. Glenn Rhee lasted until the comic's hundredth issue -- and the events of the TV series are really only up to around #60 -- but an on-set spy claimed he'd been killed in one of this season's early episodes and the fact that he appeared on set shooting scenes for later episodes hasn't totally killed the rumors.

When asked to comment on the rumors, Yeun took a deep breath before answering. "Ugh, I mean," he paused. "Sometimes it's rough, I mean sometimes its awesome. We will see what happens, yeah."

He also reiterated earlier comments made by co-star Lauren Cohan that there will likely be elements of episodes they've already filmed which won't make it to TV.

"I remember a couple of scenes I would look over at what was going on in the scene and I would be like, 'What the eff? What are we doing? How is this legal? It's grounded and real, too; it's not like torture or gore for no reason," he said. "It's literally, that is what would happen and we are trying to show it. It would not work on network television, let me tell you that.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October. Next week at Comic Con International: San Diego, expect to see the first significant look at the new season.
