Christina Grimmie, a former contestant on The Voice was fatally shot after a concert in Orlando, Florida on Friday night. Grimmie appeared on the NBC reality show in 2014.
The shooting occurred late Friday night after the concert was over, while Grimmie was signing autographs for fans. An as of yet unidentified gunman opened fire on the singer with two guns.
The singer's brother tackled the gunman, and the gunman then fatally shot himself. Grimmie was rushed to the hospital, but a publicist for the singer has confirmed that she passed away from the injuries.
NBC issued the following statement through The Voice's Facebook page, "There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice. Our hearts go out to the friends, fans and family of Christina Grimmie."
